Chopper Twirls Wildly into Palm Groves at Frequented Southern California Shoreline
A helicopter flying over a popular coastal coastline suddenly started spinning out of control, eventually losing altitude and plunging into a cluster of palm groves as beachgoers looked on.
Recordings posted on social media capture the aircraft commencing to spiral above the beach then descending in the direction of the edge of the beach, where it becomes wedged between palm groves and a set of stairs adjacent to the Pacific Coast highway.
Emergency Response Update
The Huntington Beach fire department reported five individuals were rushed to the hospital comprising two who were in the helicopter and were “rescued from the debris” subsequent to the crash on that day.
Three persons on the street were hurt. Specifics on their condition were still under review.
The reason for the accident was not yet disclosed.
